Garrett and Gavin Holland have grown up at baseball practices, games, and tournaments while attending their home church, Sardis Baptist Church. During the quarantine of 2020, the boys played wiffle ball at home, waiting for their "normal" season to begin. The Holland boys, along with their family, Nic, Amy, and MaKala, decided to create a tournament, inviting their friends and family to donate to local mission efforts. This supposedly small event turned into an opening day of fun and fellowship, raising a total of $5,000.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, he died for our sins, and he rose again three days later. We believe that this is the gospel, or good news, that Christians were meant to spread throughout this world as we await his coming. While Jesus has forgiven our sins, we have to willingly accept that gift and begin to visibly change our own lives with his guidance. This sports ministry is a great way to provide for those who are less fortunate, in both material and spiritual needs. By helping these people, it opens a door for a team of believers to minister to them and to share the story of Christ with them.
